Johnny Lightning is my diecast brand of choice, but unfortunately they are not readily available locally. Only Wallys carries them and they have not re-stocked 1:64 scale cars since January. Since then the same two castings, the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10, from Forever 64 Walmart Exclusive series. Obviously Wallys will not re-order with a couple cars warming the pegs and clearly no one wanted to buy them after these 7 months including myself. So I decided to purchase one of the Vipers in hopes that will trigger a re-stock, with out me having to buy the other one.
This year has been a slow, dissapointing year for diecast. Stores offer less selection, and yard sale scores have been very few and far between. Making it difficult to maintain interest in the hobby.
After having a chance to examine it more closely, I don't feel as bad for buying the Viper. It is a well done casting. Nice detail, looks prototypical correct and the copper metallic paint with black stripes is sharp.
